One CBRM high school student may be 30 seconds away from a $1,000 scholarship. Grade 12 students are asked to storyboard a 30 second TV advertisement script answering “why is CBRM tap water cool?” One student will win the ACAP Cape Breton and CBRM Water Utility scholarship for post-secondary study in the fall. The winning ad will also be fully produced and played on CTV in June.
“It is important for students to discover the benefits of tap water,” notes Susan King, Executive Director at ACAP Cape Breton. “Whether it’s for public health, recreation, fire fighting or another creative idea, we hope grade 12 students will think creatively and create an engaging script.”
The advertisement should creatively highlight the public health benefits of tap water. It is a video made by teens, for teens, to put this important local resource into context. Students write a 30 second script with storyboard images and sound effects included. The script, an education plan letter and a release form complete the submission. The scholarship deadline is Friday, April 20th at 4:30pm.
The scholarship is open to any students graduating from a CBRM high school in June 2012 and is valid only for post secondary education in fall 2012. For complete information on the scholarship, please visit www.acapcb.ns.ca/educationcontest.htm or phone ACAP Cape Breton at 567-1628.

I didn't think "tap water" and "benefits" could be used in the same sentence. All that fluoride sure is healthy!
