The Lover by Harold Pinter / directed by John Lingard
Richard and Sarah are an upper middle class couple living near Windsor, England. Their lives would seem to be happy and balanced; except for one thing: Sarah has a lover who visits her in the afternoons, while Richard deals with high finance in the City; moreover, Richard seems, initially at least, to be perfectly at ease with the arrangement. The play explores the tensions that inevitably arise from this “eternal triangle.”
On Waking by Eric Letcher / directed by Eric Letcher
On Waking is a lively postmodern retelling of the story of Absalom and Achitophel. Funny and sad, this one-woman show explores the life of a troubled young homeless woman named Helen, who (with the help of a pink balloon) mythologizes her own story in an effort to make sense of the world, and to find a reason to keep on living.
